Cargo Inspections

UDAN SHIPPING’s survey & Consultancy division conducts physical inspection of cargo, to ascertain the nature, extent and cause of damage with a comprehensive examination of each variable to provide our client with a detailed analysis.

Vessel Inspections

UDAN SHIPPING’s survey & Consultancy division conducts physical inspection of shipborne cargo, marine units, ships and their machinery, to ascertain their compliance with the statutory rules, regulations and standard marine practices. The scope includes the issuance of reports with “time-bound” recommendations, which can assist the client in a decision making process with regard to procurement, repairs, maintenance, insurance and assessment of value.

Damage Investigation

Our marine survey and casualty division assists in the investigation of damage to the ship, machinery, and cargo, to determine the possible cause and/or extent of any damage and also to assist in mitigating further losses. We gather facts, provide timely advice, and where instructed, provide on-site instructions and guidance on behalf of our instructing client. We can also work with all parties to prepare a detailed damage report and assist in developing repair specifications. Additionally, we can provide oversight of damage repairs, and review repair accounts, whilst representing the best interests of our client.

Our marine survey and casualty investigation division conducts the following:

Ship Assistance

UDAN SHIPPING’s survey and salvage team have the capability to mobilize specialized personnel, with considerable related experience, in attending marine casualties, in a consulting or surveying capacity.
Our resources are accustomed to managing fast-moving and developing situations and provide top quality crisis management. Our on-site leadership can allow the team members to remain focused on their own responsibilities while supporting the response effort, at hand.

Our scope of work in salvage and wreck removal includes:

 

  1. Provision of preliminary advice on salvage feasibility and methodology to mitigate and minimise loss and prevent pollution.
  2. Invitations to tender for wreck removal, bid evaluation and technical advice on contracts.
  3. Coordination and/or management of salvage operations.
  4. Monitoring and assessment of strength and stability during salvage or wreck removal operations.
  5. Mobilisation of Pollution prevention and control mechanism.
  6. Mobilisation of lightening operations.
  7. Mobilisation of Bunker and cargo removal operations.

Yachts Inspection

We understand the need for fast and flexible service and therefore provide a rapid response program, which delivers consistent, professional and efficient survey reports, on all categories of marine survey, including:

  1. Pre-Purchase Inspections – providing full condition reports, tender evaluation and assistance with contract negotiations and sales.
  2. Hull and Machinery Damage – structural, machinery and third party damage investigation.
  3. Asset Protection – Periodic inspection and monitoring of yachts for banks and financial organizations.
  4. Condition assessment – P&I and H&M insurance, pre and post-entry surveys.
  5. Equipment Commissioning – we attend the manufacturing of new equipment intended for installation in new build and existing vessels, supervising construction and commissioning.
